“Zero Tolerance
Policies in Schools” It has been the
observation of some at the Kentucky Center for School
Safety (KCSS) that there are widely varied
interpretations of “zero tolerance” in regard to student
infractions of school rules and laws as it relates to
weapons, dangerous instruments, drugs, alcohol, academic
dishonesty, bullying, etc. in Kentucky’s school
districts. These interpretations range from being
extremely rigid, where it is perceived that each
infraction should be treated as all others, to
reasonably flexible, where the consequences are
determined only after examination of pertinent
circumstances and indisputable facts.

In The Driver's Seat - Bus Driver Training
- $30.00
Public school transportation is a
vast undertaking. Millions of students are transported
daily in the United States, millions of miles are driven
annually, and billions of dollars are spent annually. As
any bus driver will tell you, operating the bus is the
easy part of the job. Managing student behavior is by
far the most difficult part of a bus driver’s day.
Additionally, managing behavior on a school bus is
different from any other school setting. This workshop
will provide bus drivers with a positive approach to
student discipline. Drivers will learn strategies to
prevent student misbehavior as well as how to handle
misbehavior when it does occur.

Accu
Weather...Tips for driving in the snow
Accelerate and decelerate
slowly. Applying the gas slowly to accelerate is the
best method for regaining traction and avoiding skids.
Don't try to get moving in a hurry. And take time to
slow down for a stoplight. Remember: It takes longer to
slow down on icy roads.
